The President Visits Yosemite
Dear Friends
I greet you from Yosemite

The President visits Yosemite. The President and his family arrive in Yosemite Valley in a helicopter. The cable news channels cover this historic event.

After a giving a prepared speech acknowledging the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, the President and his family are driven to Glacier Point to soak in the majestic views.

The historic 4-mile trail is the route for the President to return to Yosemite Valley. Yes, he and his family will be HIKING!

Yes, this day hike has been a historic favorite of Park visits for over 100 years because of its panoramic views of Yosemite Valley. The trail was built in 1871, by J. McCauley, who was allowed to charge a toll of $1.00.

The President and his family hiked through dense Jeffery and sugar pine trees.

Soon North Dome and Basket Dome come into view! The trail has many famous viewpoints.

Hiking across the famous granite slope leads to Union Point, one of the finest views of Yosemite Valley. It is believed that at Union Point, McCauley built a wigwam…placing an American flag at its apex.

From Union Point, the President and his family, hiked down steeply along the trail.

Soon towering Sentinel Rock would come into view and Sentinel Creek would have to be crossed.
